Frequently asked questions
How do I invert the colours of a picture?
Drop or paste the picture above. Every pixel is replaced by its opposite colour (255 minus each red, green and blue value), and you can download the result at the original size.
Can I turn a scanned film negative into a positive?
Inverting a scanned black-and-white negative gives a usable positive. Colour negatives also carry an orange film mask, so after inverting they look bluish and still need colour correction in a photo editor.
Does it keep transparency?
Yes. Transparent areas stay transparent: PNG and GIF images are saved as PNG, WebP as WebP, and JPG photos as JPG.
Are my photos uploaded to a server?
No. Everything runs inside your browser. Your photo never leaves your device, and nothing is stored after you close the tab.
